From May 8–14, 2026, starting in Ulaanbaatar and traveling through Umnugovi and Bayankhongor provinces, we invite you on an extraordinary journey across Mongolia’s pristine Gobi, majestic mountains, and vast степpe landscapes.

Travel itinerary

Day 1:  Ulaanbaatar → Tsogttsetsii (~530 km)

The territory of Tsogttsetsii is home to protected wildlife listed in the Red Book, including argali sheep, ibex, black-tailed gazelles, as well as foxes, corsac foxes, hares, and many species of birds.

Day 2: Shar Tsav → Dalanzadgad (~230 km) 

Located in the territory of Manlai soum, Shar Tsav is famous for preserving around 13,000 dinosaur footprints.

Day 3:Dalanzadgad → Yolyn Am (~230 km))

Day 4:  Yolyn Am → Khuren Khaniin Khets (~230 km)

Viewed from above, this formation resembles the ridged back of a crocodile; from the side, it appears like rows of overlapping triangles. It is a striking and unusual natural structure with five layered rows of rocky canyons.

Day 5:  Khuren Khaniin Khets → Khermen Tsav (~250 km)

From a distance, Khermen Tsav looks like the ruins of a great ancient city. It is rightfully considered one of the Nine Wonders of Mongolia and is the country’s largest canyon.

Day 6: Khermen Tsav → Ekhiin Gol (~230 km)

An artificial lake created around 1977 has since become a beautiful oasis, surrounded by willows and saxaul trees. Nestled among groves of poplars, it now shimmers as a scenic lake where migratory birds stop to rest.

Day 7: Ekhiin Gol → Ikh Bogd Mountain (~250 km)

Total distance: ~2,580 km
